Give receipts, payouts, and loose ends one place to land before the next week starts.
Make one folder for the week
Choose a simple date format, such as year-month-day, for the start of each workweek. Inside it, keep separate places for payouts, costs, and open questions. A paper envelope and a single index card can serve the same purpose.
Match deposits before filing
Pair each deposited amount with its payout statement. If a batch covers several shifts, write down the dates it covers. Keep an unresolved difference on a short follow-up list with the amount, date, and where to check.
Give receipts useful names
A name like “2026-05-08_parking_6-00” is easier to find than a camera filename. Keep the original receipt image, store it privately, and crop customer details from any example you share.
Finish with one action
Pick the most time-sensitive loose end and give it a date. When you open the folder next week, that action should be visible without rereading every receipt.
