Rideshare / PLATFORM PROFILE

HopSkipDrive CareDriver

Transport students on pre-arranged rides through a platform that screens for caregiving as well as driving experience.

What the work is like

CareDrivers can choose scheduled rides to school, activities, and appointments. The route and pickup time are known in advance. This work involves handoff procedures for young passengers, and certification includes caregiving experience, screenings, and vehicle inspection.

School pickups and drop-offs

CareDrivers claim school and activity rides in advance. Check the scheduled pickup, destination and handoff instructions before claiming a ride, especially when planning another pickup afterward.

HopSkipDrive requires experience caring for children, at least three years of driving, and a minimum age of 21. Its certification includes fingerprinting and an annual vehicle inspection. The four-door vehicle age limit is generally 15 years, with a 10-year limit in certain markets. California’s screening includes TrustLine.
